INTRODUCTION. This is the third report on the partial results of my pre-election survey, with respondents coming from the City of Manila only. The total respondents counted in is still low at 17.4%. The respondents are from the districts of Tondo, Binondo, San Nicolas and Sta. Cruz.
NOTE: This survey is self-initiated and non-partisan, therefore, this is non-commissioned by any personality or organization. The only purpose of this survey is to provide information on the voting preference trend among the voters of Manila.
DIFFICULTIES IN OBTAINING DATA. For the past three days, I utilized the following ways of obtaining voter preference for this particular survey:
1. Online interaction (Facebook and WeChat)
2. Text messages (SMS)
3. Face to face interview
4. Asking friends/family members to gather information.
In using the online interaction is supposed to be the most convenient way of getting their answers, but majority of them choose not to give any answers, in other words, I am "seenzoned." (I just want to clarify that the "undecided" voters to be shown below do not include these people who have not replied to my messages.) Hence, the low percentage mentioned above.
Another issue I am facing right now is the concentration of my respondents. Right now, I only have data from voters in the First, Second and Third Legislative Districts of Manila. I lack respondents from the Fourth District (that is why vice mayoral candidate and congresswoman of that district Trisha David is yet to get voter preference in my survey), Fifth and Sixth Districts.
MY SURVEY AND THEIRS. This survey of mine should not be compared to those of Pulse Asia, Social Weather Stations and other news outlets. Their surveys have sets of sample voters picked from around the country to produce weekly or monthly survey reports, while mine is just a mere fraction of what they are reaching: they have thousands of respondents, mine would just have hundreds; they cover the Philippines, I just cover Manila.
But the law of testing credibility of surveys is: the more respondents you have, the more accurate a survey will be. That is why I am still in need of more respondents to better see the picture of the upcoming elections.
